TECHNICAL RALLY SLOWS
The technical rally which has marked trading in the last two sessions slowed on the New Zealand sharemarket yesterday. Falls outnumbered rises, and share prices were mixed particularly among frequently traded issues. Insurances were firmer, but newspapers, transport and retailers were mixed. The market was not all that impressed by the first profit of the merged Waitaki-N.Z.R. Its shares gained 3c on the announcement on Wednesday, but eased 1c yesterday.
