Trans (N.C.) profit higher
The unaudited group net profit of Trans (North Canterbury, Ltd, rose 32 per cent to $lOB,OOO in the half-year to September 30. The profit for the previous corresponding six months was $81,974. Ihe provision for taxation was $78,000. No provision was made last year. An unchanged interim divided of 3 per cent (3c a share) will be paid on January 31. The payment is covered more than three times by the profit for the period, but regulations preclude the directors from considering a higher interim dividend on this occasion, the report says.
