Mila will outline reforms
NZPA-Reuter Tokyo The Japanese Prime Minister (Mr Miki) has said he will submit reform proposals for Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party early next week, but has given no confirmation that his resignation may follow. Informed sources said Mr Miki wanted a pledge from the party’s executive that the party would institute his proposed reforms in return for his resignation. A majority of L.D.P. Parliamentarians has been de- • manding that he step down (since the L.D.P.’s General Election set-back last Sunday. The chief Cabinet spokesman said on Wednesday that Mr Miki would present his reform proposals in two or three days and this action would mean the “official expression of his decision to resign.”
