Overdue hunters out safely
Three men, overdue on a hunting trip in the upper reaches of the Rangitata River, walked out of the bush at Erewhon station yesterday afternoon. Anthony Brian Mulholland, Trevor Nigel Standbury. and Graeme Edward Turnbull, all of Umaru, went into the area on December 3, and were expected out two days later. An air search began last Wednesday, although police held no fears for the safety of the trio who, although aged between 18 and 24, were thought to be experienced in the bush.
A ground search would have been handicapped by flooded rivers in the area. A search plane sighted another party in the area yesterday morning, but not the missing men.
