: PA Blenheim Two old-established newsi papers in the northern end iof the South Island have ibeen linked. R, Lucas and Son (“Nelson Mail”), Ltd., (has acquired half of the' (.shares in the Marlborough (Express Newspaper Com[pany, Ltd, of Blenheim. !, The Nelson firm has (bought the interest held by (Rangatira, Ltd, ■- Wellington, company which is the investment medium for the .l. : R. McKenzie Trust. Both the “Nelson ’Evening Mail” and the (“Marlborough Express” ate (more than 110 years old. (The “Mail” has been owned (by the Lucas family for the (whole of that time, while of the “Express” ■ (has been wholly or partly ini the hands of the Furness: family for the last 97 years. 1 The Furness family will keep a half-interest in the' Express.” f
