’Keeper to miss games
A knee injury, suffered at representative training during the week, will prevent the Canterbury B cricket wi-cket-keeper, Kevin Collins, from taking his place behind the stumps against Ashburton tomorrow and the provincial Brabin XI the following Sunday. His replacement for these games will be the very promising Linwood High School player, Graeme Kench, who has also been chosen as vice-captain of the New Zealand schoolboys team to travel to Australia.
Collins severely twisted his knee and will miss the sixth round of inter-club fixtures. However, it is expected that he will recover in time for the B side’s three-match tour of the southern North Island next month.
