At home again
After three years as chairman of the National Housewives’ Association, 38-year-old Sandra Brookes is resigning, so she can be a housewife again, writes Sally Adams from London. "I’ll move the filing system out of the bedroom, the office out of the dining room. I’ll get up late and above all, I’ll be as outspoken as I like without being afraid of damaging the reputation of the N.H.A. It’s a job for a spinster, a spinster with no job, no family and no emotions.” Her husband, Bob Brookes added: “For the last three years we have had no family life.”
