PA Wellington I Even though Lady Hol- ■ land was in public life more, than she might have wished, she never lost contact with her friends outside the political arena, the Dean of Wellington, (the Very Reverend W. E. W. Hurst) said.

John Marshall, who was ac-l companied by Lady Mar-1 shall. The Postmaster-Gen-1 eral (Mr Templeton) and the! Parliamentary Under-Secre-j tary to the Minister of Inter-j nal'Affairs (Mr Comber) and their wives were also] present. Dean Hurst said Lady Hol-j land led a very full life and! among her official contacts,' two which she specially, treasured were her in-| volvement with the Save the Children Fund and her posi-! tion as patron o f the New! Zealand Women’s Cricket ■ Association.
Her busy life made the months of illness preceding her death on Friday hard to accept and the enforced hospitalisation and rest were out of character with her nature. But she kept up her interest in rugby and was able to watch test matches on television in hospital, he said.
A private cremation followed the church service.
The pallbearers were her sons, Messrs Eric and Geoff Holland, Sir Keith Holyoake, two sons-in-law, Messrs Peter Bradshaw and Ken Cory-Wright, and a grandson, Mr Phillip Cory-Wright.
