Parliament’s diary
The Fisheries Amendment Bill and the Securities Transfer Bill were each read a first time. They were referred to committees for recess study, with news media privilege. Two notices of motion and a petition were tabled. Ministers answered 20 questions. The House discussed answers to previous questions.
Urgency was taken on this discussion, repons of select committees, and the first 25 items on a diminishing Order Paper. The first eight items comprised the third readings of the Wine Makers’ Levy Bill, the Rating Amendment Bill, the Local Elections and Polls Bill, the Services Export Development Grants Amendment Bill, the Tokelau Islands Territorial Zone Bill, the Natural Gas Corporation Amendment Bill, the Customs Acts Amendment (No. 2) Bill, and the Cinematograph Films Bill. To complete the session’s work, Parliament has to complete deliberations on 23 other measures.
