It is necessary that Control Staff are able to assimilate the data brought back to the Control Centre and use this to effect the most efficient operating procedures. They should have the ability to: —calculate plant and equipment ratings -—carry out short circut calculations —calculate protection settings —carry out load-flow studies —analyse equipment breakdown One computer of the supervisory equipment is on-line for control purposes. The second unit acts as a standby but is available for carrying out the above and other engineering calculations. The salary is within the grades 7-10 (inclusive) of the board grading scheme, plus an over-scale allowance of 21.5 per cent to compensate for shift work, giving a total basic salary of $10,005 to $ll,lOl plus $365 per annum cost of living allowance. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, but will not include the 21.5 per cent over-scale allowance until shift work is commenced.
