PA Timaru Cro&sbred wools, had a slightly firmer market, but Merino fleece eased by up to 2£ per cent, according to the official report of the Timaru wool sale yesterday. The report described halfbred fleece as generally unchanged, with halfbred skirtings from par to 2£ per cent stronger Crossbred fleece was in sellers favour, with both skirtings and oddments up to 2£ per cent stronger on last week’s rates at Wanganui. The main competition came from Eastern and Western Europe, with support from local mills and Bradford. The Wool Marketing Corporation gave moderate support to the market, bidding on 10 per cent of the offering, mainly the better-style Merinos and neglected lines of halfbred.
