Link to water supply
Fire-fighting problems at Ferrymead may soon be over if the Heathcote County Council approves a recommendation of its works and reserves committee that the Ferrymead Trust property be linked to the Lyttelton Borough Council’s water supply. The connection, if it goes ahead, would be a temporary one. It would be replaced with a connection to the Heathcote water supply as soon as possible. It is expected that it will be another two years before the Heathcote supply is adequate to meet the trust’s requirements.
