Woman dies in collision
PA Dunedin A Gore woman was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision that involved three cars at Stoney Creek, six miles north of Balclutha. Mrs Irene Corbett, aged 63, of Anzac Street, Gore. The Balchitha police said that two cars were travelling north on State Highway I and another car was travelling south. The first of the northbound cars and the southbound car collided head-on and the second north-bound car ran into the rear of the first. The driver of the southbound car was killed. The two injured people, who were in the first north-bound car, were taken to Balclutha for treatment. Their condition was not available last night.
