Parliament’s diary
The Building Performance Guarantee Bill was read a first time in Parliament yesterday and referred to the Commerce Committee for open consideration. Members filed two notices of motion; two petitions were presented, and Ministers answered 19 questions. The Lyttelton Borough Empowering Bill was one of three measures returned by the Local Bills Committee as ready to proceed. The Passports Amendment Bill and the Transport Amendment Bill were introduced. Urgency was taken on the first 19 measures on the Order Paper. Among measures read a third time and passed were the Development Finance Corporation Amendment Bill, the Judicature Amendment Bill, the Motor Vehicle Dealers Amendment Bill, the Summary Proceedings Amendment Bill, the Statutes Amendment Bill, and the Poultry Board Bill.
