Halswell show And yet again, another pony club show with record entries — this time at Halswell. Again the “restricted ring” with classes for the genuine club pony was well supported, with some classes having 58 entries. The champion hack award, went to Miss C. Bennett’s Ballysadare, with Mrs J. Stronach’s Robbie as reserve. Miss M. Reade’s Tapestry was champion small hack from Burnby and Fitzgerald’s Manolito. The cob class championship was won by Miss D. Lucas’s Cromwell. Sampson and Mitchell’s Sweet Charity won the 147.5 cm championship from Miss S. Deardon’s Royal Tudor which, later in the day, won the champion working pony award from Miss R. Richards’ Montana. The 137.5 cm championship was won by Walker and Topski’s Rositta from Sampson and Menzies’ Sister Jane. The small pony championship went to Walker
and Connelly’s Lady Lyni with Miss J. Morrish’s! Danielle as reserve. The! champion working pony i up to 137.5 cm was Blain! and Sampson’s Peter Leg-' end, from Miss P. Mor-1 ten’s Echo Valley. Mrs D. Thompson's i Tantrum, usually success-! ful in the cob section,! achieved new success in I winning the champion! working hack from the! Webster family’s Watchman. Arada and Becky Oxenbridge scored another paced and mannered victory in winning the Nellavale Trophy.
Unity cup winners were Miss C, Mahony, the Westenra, Misses-A. Betts and A. Blain equal in the Robertson, and! Miss S. Bakena in the! Torrent in the restricted I section. Nicola Preece!
won the Margaret Wat-! ling cup for the best rider! of the show, while the! Silver Memorial trophy! for skill and control went] to Raewyn Choat’s Chaw-I ton Wendy. Walker and! Topski’s Starski won the i champion novice pony! award. j
