‘New’ ferry on way
Parliamentary reporter The “new look” Cook Strait ferry Aratika completed final trials off Hong Kong recently before being accepted by Mr Trevor Hayward, the general manager of the Railways Department. The Aratika left Hong Kong for New Zealand last Wednesday, and has made good progress on her delivery voyage. She is expected in Wellington on December 14. and will re-enter the Cook Strait service on Monday, December 20. Her sailing times will be: 7.20 a.m. from Wellington; 11. 0 a.m. from Picton: 4 p.m. from Wellington: 8.20 p.m. from Picton (except Thursday!.
