The secretary of the Canterbury Drivers’ Union (Mr P. Liggett) said yester< day that the oil companies had agreed to equate oil tanker drivers driving tha big, new furnace-oil tankers with those who drive the largest petrol tankers. The private bus companies have agreed to increase the drivers’ overnight allowance during tours, but the quese. tion of holiday entitlement has been referred to a sub, committee.
