Opportunity knocked for 29 budding country music i singers and groups in the 'Cambridge Room of the I Christchurch Town Hall. They were competing in' the 1976 South Island country! music award, organised in\ Christchurch by the Modem; Country Music Club. The top prize of the South Island Country Music Award Scroll and $lOO went to Ray Croton, of the Christchurch Modern Country Music Club.
