Babies die in hospital

NZPA-Reuter San Juan Five babies have died in a public hospital in the Puerto Rican city of Ponce, and 19 are seriously ill, the health authorities have reported. Salmonella bacteria, associated with food poisoning, are believed to be responsible. Dr Giordano San Antonia, director of the Ponce District Hospital, said further laboratory tests were being made to obtain a definite diagnosis.
