Bowls again hit by rain

For the second time in three weeks, rain prevented any play on Saturday morning in the Three-fours and Robinson Shield bowls competitions. However, the afternoon Manning Cup was not affected.

Before the latest Manning Cup round, last season's winner, Burnham Camp, led the field with 731 points. Riccarton Racecourse was second with 71J, and then followed Fendalton (66J), Burnside (65), Christchurch and Woolston i62J), and Cashmere 611.

Linwood I leads division 1 of the Three-four with 23 points, three more than Spreydon I and Cashmere I. St Martins I and Barrington I have 19, and grouped on 18 are St Albans I, South Brighton, and Edgeware I. Burnside 11. with 22 points, is a clear leader in division 11. Fendalton in and Papanui IV are equal second with 18 and Papanui HI and Christchurch-Richmond M.S.A. have 17. Barrington 11, Burwood in, Sumner. Linwood HI and Mona Vale are together on 16.
