George Foreman and Ken Norton will battle for the world heavy-weight boxing title if Muhammad Ali keeps to his recent decision to retire from the ring, the presides of the World Boxing Association, Mr Elias Mardoqueo Cordova, has announced. Mr Cordova stated that the rival (World Boxing Council) governing body had been consulted about this decision and had been fully in agreement with it, but no deadline for the ForemanNorton fight was announced. The W.B.A. president said he was still waiting for Muhammand Ali to call an official press conference to ma-k his retirement from boxing, or to communicate that announcement directly to the W.B.A. Until then, Ali’s retirement could not be considered official, he added.
