Crafts gala raises $2500
The women’s auxiliary of the Laura Fergusson Trust raised $2500 at its crafts gala at Riccarton on Friday. The money will be added to funds in hand of about $120,000 for the trust’s proposed home in Christchurch for the disabled. The home, which will cost $408,000 without furnishings, will be subsidised at $275,000 by theGovernment. Building should begin at the end of the year. A spokeswoman said that stalls had been stocked ’by members who had worked all year on articles.
