Letter on cash crisis gets lost
PA Wellington A letter from the last Labour Government’s Minister of Finance to the then Minister of Transport saying that the Transport Ministry’s budget was being overspent became lost within the department.
This was revealed in Parliament on Tuesday by Mr W. F. Birch (Nat., Franklin) during discussions of the Ministry’s estimates of expenditure for this year.
Mr Birch said the letter had been sent in July, last year.
