Kotare Charger a Grey mouth prospect

Tlie Sydney-owned Kotare Charger, which is being aimed at important restricted-age races later in the spring, will be a popular choice in the final leg of the T.A.B. treble on the first night of the Greymouth Trotting Club’s spring meeting today. Kotare Charger has not raced since he finished a fine fifth in the T. S. Harrison Stakes at Methven last month when making a fresh start. He is a talented three-year-old expected to take a high ranking, and it will b e most surprising if he fails to win on the trip. Rebecca’s Pride finished a useful second to the speedy Command Castle at Addington Racewav last Tuesday The Fallacy four-year-old has drawn favourblv in this race and, with reasonable luck, he should take a prominent part in the finish. Jollification, Astro Blue and Snowdon are others expected to show to advantage. Ambridge, another three-year-old with important engagements at the Now Zealand Cup meeting next month, will be one of the favourites in the first leg, the Visitors’ Handicap, a race in which most opposition may come from Hunt Away, Black Regal, and Truant Lass. The middle leg. the Gladstone Handicap, is for maiden trotters, none of which have shown form of much consequence. Michelle’s Pride, Trafalgar Day, and Daynoma are three capable of getting into the finish, but there is plenty of room for a surprise.
