A new sheep event
A new championship event has been Introduced to the sheep section at this year's Ellesmere Show.
Winning ram hoggets in the mutton breed classes will compete for the supreme champion hogget ribbon.
They will be lined up in an open ring, and Judged on the Australian pattern. This will provide some spectator appeal. Judging will be carried out at noon by a combined panel, and points allocated by the individual judges will be put on a board for the information of anyone interested.
