Traffic officers remanded
PA Auckland Two Auckland City Council traffic officers charged with theft and receiving were remanded, without plea, when they appeared in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Ronald Grant Robinson, aged 30, of Oratia, was remanded on bail to October 21 by Mr P. M. Browne, S.M. An application for suppression of name was declined, “in fairness to other enforcement officers working in Auckland.”
Robinson was charged with theft of a car gearbox, valued at $5O, in the possession of the Auckland City Council, and owned by his employer, the council, and a similar charge of theft of a $l2 pair of sealed-beam headlights between September 1 and 30. Ross George Stuhlmann, aged 60, of Mount Albert, was remanded on bail to October 28, by Mr N. R. Taylor, S.M., who also declined an application for suppression of name. Stuhlmann was charged
with stealing two wind-1 screen-wiper blades, valued at $B, on September -22, owned by his employer, the council, and with receiving; two sealed-beam headlights' 'from Robinson on September 24. An unemployed traffic officer, Raymond John Wooler, of Glen Innes, was remanded on Wednesday, without plea, to October 20 on a charge of theft of a portable field telephone, valued at $BO, the property of, the Auckland City Council traffic department.
