World skating for Chch

Christchurch has been allocated the world road roller-skating championships in November next year. The president of the New Zealand Federation of Roller-skating (Mr H. A. Allchurch), of Christchurch, said last evening that Hastings would hold the world track championships In the same month. Mr Allchurch, who has Just returned from a meeting of the general assembly in Spain, said that 15 countries were represented and all had shown interest in competing. Countries that Mr Allchurch expected to be represented included Argentina, Chile, Japan, the United States, Australia, Italy, Belgium, Great Britain, Spain and Germany. Both world championships will be held in November and Mr Allchurch said that he expected that Timaru would hold a prechampionship meeting before the road events and that a preliminary to the world track titles would be held in a North Island centre.
