Aviator dies
I Mr Trevor Barker, a wellIknown Christchurch aviator. I died in Timaru last Satur[day. He was 72. i During World War 11. Mr (Barker was a member of ’h* I Long Range Desert Group in (North Africa, doing recon naissonce work and taking out the wounded Before the war. Mr Barker flew a support plane for Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith on his Tasman flight. He also took part in a whaling expe dition to Antarctica aboard the ship Sir James Clark Ross.
Mr Barker was a partner in the firm, G.B.D. Prints, until his retirement nine years ago. He is survived by a son. Mr Tan Barker, of Timaru.
