Five dredges and live tugs in port
Never before lias Lj-ttelfon Harbour been so well endowed with floating plant as it is now. with five dredges and five tugs in port.
Part of the reason for the large number of vessels is the closing of the Port Chalmers dock, which means that ships usually overhauled and surveyed there are having the work done at Lvttelton.
Apart from the two "resident” dredges, there are three visiting dredges in port which have undergone surveys. They are the Mawhera, of Westport, which has finished her survey but is held up by a dispute; the Ngamotu. of New Plymouth, which carried out her engine trials yesterday and will swing her compass today, after which she hopes to sail; and the Wanganui of Wanganui. The two visiting tugs, the Aoranei, of Timaru. and the Lake Hauroko. of Bluff, are both tin dock. ARRIVAL Seiten Mani <6.11 a.m.l. 9042. •Japan. Union Sydney ,8.24 a m.'. 4752. '(apt. A. Dodds.
