Six charities in line for $2000 gift
[ One of six charitable organisations in Christchurch will be S2OOO richer by the end of next week.
Ballins Industries, Ltd, has announced that it will give $2OOO to a charity, but the /company has left its 1800 retail stockists in Christchurch to decide where the money (should go. 1 The retailers have been (asked to name an organisation of their choice from a (list of six. The result is ex-
pected to be known by October 22.
The nominated organisations are the Crippled Children Society, the New Zealand Foundation for the Blind, the Society for the Intellectually Handicapped, the Society for the Prevention of Crueltv to Animals, the Plunket Society, and the Christchurch Aged People’s Welfare Council. A spokesman for Ballins Industries, Ltd, said the company had given the money to thank its retail stockists for their co-operation.
