PA Dunedin, i Dave Meredith and Lou Adams, of Canterbury, were knocked out ;of the New Zealand amateur ;snooker championships lest evening in the quarter-finals. I After beating D. Barnes (Waikato) in the eighth finals, Meredith was beaten 2-3 in the quarters by Glen Kwok, of Southland. Adams, the Canterbury chamP‘° n i heat M. Heka (Auckland), 3-0. in the eighth finals, but lost in the quarter-finals to S Rota, of Wellington. Another top Canterbury player. Brian Kirkness, had a better run. getting through to the semi-finals after beating P. Lawrence 'Wanganui). 3-0, and T. Yesberg (Waikato), also 3-0. In the semi-finals. Kirkness will meet Peter Mlschefskl. of Tara.nakl. who beat L. Glozler (Auckland) convincingly in the quarter- . finals.
