Minister meets deputation
A deputation from the Darfield district was met by the Minister of Education (Mr Gandar) in Wellington on Thursday to discuss the proposed introduction of a Form I to Form VII system at Darfield High School next year. A member of the deputation (Mrs T. L. Clucas) said yesterday that she had gained the impression the Minister favoured the proposed system. He told the deputation he would not make an immediate decision. When the Minister made it known he wished to hear arguments for and against the system, Mrs M. Eason, of Darfield, joined the deputation to argue the case in favour, and Mr G. K. Inch, of Sheffield, argued the case against it.
