Assertions on energy ‘nonsense’
PA Wellington The Minister of Energy Resources (Mr Holland) has rejected assertions that energy prices will rise 100 or 200 per cent. The assertions were utter nonsense, he said at the annual meeting of the Electrical Manfacturers’ Federation. But he said that some energy prices would The Government's new policy had been completed, and he would begin consultations on it this week with groups such as gas. and electrical supply authorities. “I believe that the energy pricing policy will have a very small effect on the consumers’ price index, and in the long term the consumer will feel very real benefits from an ordered system of pricing,” the Minister said.
