MARKET FIRM AND ACTIVE
New Zealand share prices were generally firmer yesterday. Rises and falls were about in balance, but market leaders were more prominent among the rises. Four local mining stocks sold yesterday—making a minor flurry in the mining market; although only 10,700 shares were sold. Prices of Amoil and L and M Oil were steady, Consolidated Silver successively sold from 7c, its previous price, up to 9c, while Republic lost 3c to sell at 59c. An unusual sale was 42,300 Allied Press at 400 c. f
