Hanafi Hayes off to Japan
By
KEN COATES
Hanafi Hayes, the Christchurch free lance television producer and reporter, has been commissioned by TVI to produce a documentary on Japan. Hayes, who made his mark with “One Man’s View” for TV2, now runs an independent company , Telenion Productions, Ltd. He will leave for 23 days in Japan on October 7. “I have not been to Japan before, and will be interested, not so much in a deep sociological study, carried out by 'The Japanese Experience,’ as in human foibles, customs, traditions and people,” he said. “It will be in the style of ‘One Man’s View’.”
Hanafi thinks his documentary will be a fulllength 45min to 50min production, but naturally enough he does not at this stage know its precise nature.
He will be accompanied by the cameraman, Handani Milas, and sound-man, John Peek. The trip to Japan is being made with the support of the Japanese Government.
