New term at W.E.A.
The spring term of the Canterbury Workers’ Edutational Association programme is expected to attract about 1000 enrolments, according to the association’s director (Mr B. Pauling). The association, which runs the series of courses several times a year, expects this term’s enrolments to be the highest recorded. Mr Pauling said that the great interest in the more technical classes showed that many people who had not attended university wanted to improve their knowledge. . The classes, which will run j until November, encompass a wide range of topics ranging from lectures on three pre-European civilisations to a course on learner’s bridge. Mr Pauling said that there had been special interest in the foster care course run by [doctors, social workers, and i clergymen.
