A persistent Finnish shoemaker has just patented a painless mouse trap. It took Mr Vaino Huumonen 30 years to develop his idea. A mouse touching the bait in the box-like device springs a trap-door which plunges it into a secure cell below. The trap then returns to its original position to await the next victim.
