"Al-Ahram" reported that Mr Kamal Jumblatt, the Lebanese Leftist leader, had been unable to travel to Cairo because he had refused to go through Damascus. Mr Sadat met the Lebanese Prime Minister (Mr Rashid Karami) on Tuesday.
Other leaders of Lebanese factions in Cairo for the present round of talks include Imam Moussa Sadr, leader of the Shiite sect, and a former Prime Minister, Mr Saeb Salam.
Cairo newspapers reported that the Mufti of Lebanon (Sheikh Hassan Khaled) and another former Prime Minister, Mr Takeieddin Solh, were also expected.
October 18 is the date set for the proposed Arab summit on Lebanon in Cairo.
