Petrol use declines

Income from petrol was down about 0.5 per cent on last year, and although the trend was for the use of petrol to be down about 1 per cent, the situation was not as bad as had been expected, the National Roads Board was told at its September meeting.
“It is too early for us to be optimistic about petrol, and we will need another month before we can assess the position,” said the assistant director of reading (Mr R. B. Fisher).
