Situation.— A strong south to southwest airsitream flows over New Zealand, but is slowly losing intensity as a depression to the south-east of the country moves away. Forecast.— Marlborough, Nelson: moderate or fresh cold southerly winds in coastal areas, with some showers; elsewhere light or moderate variable winds, and mainly fine and cool.
Buller, Westland: light winds, southerlies pre. dominating; some showers in the ranges, but mainlj fine, with moderate after< noon temperatures. Canterbury’: south-west winds, strong in exposec coastal areas but light oi moderate elsewhere; cloudy and cold, witj showers, chiefly in coastal areas. Outlook: some showers u Canterbury; fair elsewhere
