Climbers found
The two Christchurch policemen who were missing on Mount Torlesse were found near the summit of the mountain yesterday morning. The policemen, SeniorSergeant L. M. Simmonds, aged 46, of New Brighton, and Constable M. Mcßae, aged 30, of Riccartin, went into the area on Monday, and were last seen on Tuesday morning by another member of their party.
A search-and-rescue operation was mounted yesterday morning, and a four-man reconnaissance party, which went into the area at first light found the men after following their tracks. An R.N.Z.A.F. helicopter flew them out to Wigram air base. They were not injured.
