Depressed Aust. market
Late support helped reduce some of the losses incurred in early trading, but the Australian share market remained depressed yesterday. B.H.P. slumped 20c to 884 c before recovering to 898 c for a rtet 6c loss.
The Wales managed to show a gain at 604 c after sinking as low as 594 c.
ANZ rose 2c to 395 c after an early dip, and National Bank showed a 4c gain at 320 c in a firm banking sector.
Myers, BMI. CUB. Hooker, and EZ Industries were cut back heavily. Among the miners, Qlud ! Mines plummeted 28c to 287 c, and Kathleen fell 10c (to 180 c. Pancontinental showed a ]2oc loss at 1470 c, after sellling at 1450 c. ■ Peko-Wallsend. A.M.S., (CRA, and Oakbridge were able to recover slightly.
