Houston clan gathering
There is to be a gathering of the clan Houston at St Andrew’s College next weekend and already 250 registrations have been received. In 1972 a small clan gathering was held at Palmerston North, when 31 persons representing various branches attended. Apart from meals, entertainment, and a church service, the gathering will hear an address on the Houston clan history by Mr W. J. Houston, who has prepared a commemorative 102-page booklet on the subject. The booklet is, in a way, a digest of a larger record published in the United States several years ago although Mr W. J. Houston has done considerable research for the local publication.
Among the better-known members of the Houston clan in New Zealand is the Timaru bom concert pianist, Michael' Houstoun.
