B.H.P., Shell merge in venture
The Broken Hill Proprietary- Company, Ltd. has concluded negotiations for the purchase of Burmah Oil Company’s shareholding in 'Woodside Burmah Oil N.L., iand an agreement has also 'been reached for the merging of B.H.P.’s and Shells’ jinterest in the North West ! Shelf venture.
Through North West Shelf: I Development, Proprietary, Limited, B.H.P. and Shell will own about 43 per cent of the ordinary issued capital of Woodside-Burmah, as well as the direct 16 2/3 per cent interest held by Shell in the North West Shelf permits
