N. Otago wins
For only the second time, North Otago scored a good win over Canterbury at Oamaru in the annual fixture for the A. Williamson Memorial indoor bowls trophy. After the first round, both teams had 12 points, but North Otago drew away by winning one and drawing the other four, it also won three pairs games and then won five of the eight second round singles for a deserved 29-19 win.
