Walker for dinner
Staff Reporter Greymouth The Olympic Games gold medallist and world mile record-holder, John Walker, will be a guest speaker at the West Coast Sportsman of the Year dinner in Greymouth on November 6. Walker will be accompanied to the dinner by fellow athlete Rod Dixon (a speaker at last year’s dinner), their coach, Mr Arch Jelley and a former Greymouth journalist, Mr Ivan Agnew, author of “Kiwis I Can Fly.” The organisers of the dinner. the Greymouth Lions Club, is hoping that Mr Jelley will be a speaker also at the dinner.
Other speakers already confirmed for the dinner are the All Black coach (Mr J. J. (Stewart) and former Kiwr i rugby league captain, Ken (Stirling. Mr D. G. Moore, of the . Lions Club, said that further speakers were being sought and he expected to have .confirmation of theses within a couple of weeks.
