Pistol in boot of N.Z. man
NZPA Perth A New Zealander who came ashore from the passenger liner Galileo at Fremantle on Wednesday with a .25 pistol has been fined $75 in the Fremantle Police Court. The man, Bryan Russel Eudo Hare had the loaded pistol concealed in his boot. He told the Magistrate that he brought the pistol ashore because he did not want the steward to find it in his cabin. He “realised it was a silly thing to do.” Hare, who is returning to New Zealand with his wife and two young children was charged with bringing a prohibited import into Australia.
