Opportunity knocking
The fifth and last semifinal in TV2’s talc quest "Opportunity Knocks”will be presented next Thursday night. Starting the show will be Mary Thomas Ail Stars from Christchurch, who play “Sadie's Shawl.” Frank Chin from Dunedin is next on the bill with a song called “My Sweet Lady” and he is followed by 10-year-old Matthew Oldham from Wellington who sings "Consider Yourself.” Jenni Kirk from Tauranga winds up the first half by singing "Fernando" with her own guitar accompaniment.
Steps and Stairs, the 14-year-old pop group from Glenfield, get the second half rocking with “Giving It all Away” and they are followed by 16 year-old Sandra McPherson from Christchurch who sings "It Never Rains in Southern California.” The Bunz Quartet from Christchurch sing "Day Is Done” and The Heaps Sisters from Southland (aged 9 and 11) play guitar and ukeiele fro “When The Cactus Is in Bloom.” Last, is the sol ’ ' Mike Rota from Glen Innes who sings "Easv Wav Out.”
