Car leaves road
Three members of a church youth group were injured when a car left the road and overturned at Waddington, near Darfield, about 10.30 a.m. on Saturday.
One boy was admitted to Christchurch Hospital after the accident, which occurred while members of the Heathcote-Mount Pleasant Anglican Youth Group were travelling to Porters Pass.
He is Hohepa Johnson, aged 13, of Port Hills Road, Christchurch. His condition was not available last evening.
The driver of the car was Allen John Murgatroyd, aged 19, of the R.N.Z.A.F. Base. Wigram. A Cheviot man was in a fairly comfortable condition in Christchurch Hospital last evening after a motor accident at Cheviot early yesterday morning. He is David Costello, aged 56.
