Teacher to hear pupils
PA Auckland Dame Sister Mary Leo will leave for Sydney tomorrow to see at least six operas at the Sydney Opera House.
Two of her past pupils, Kiri Te Kanawa and Heather Begg, will sing there. The Australian-born Soprano, Joan Sutherland, who visited New Zealand in June, will also sing in one of the operas. Her husband, Richard Boynge. through the Australian Opera Company, has arranged the tickets for Dame Sister Mary Leo, who is expected to be in Australia for about five weeks.
